My artistic practice focuses on repeated iconography over a unified aesthetic. I deliberately try to make sure that my practice uses a wide variety of accessible aesthetics and approaches. In particular, I focus on drawing, mixed media, printmaking, and other works on paper. Overall my goal is to make a wide variety of work containing unified imagery and written words wherein meaning emerges through repetition. My motto is iconography over aesthetics. The prevailing theme of my work is one’s construction of self through images and their psychological connection to identity. In particular, I pay close attention to collections of images, reflective of platforms like social media and search engines. Thematically I examine freedom, chance, destruction, and meaninglessness through my work. However, these topics are deeply embedded into my own personal narratives and feelings to engage in larger social and cultural issues.
